Credai Bengal Realty Expo (March 12 -15, 2010)
The CREDAI Bengal Realty Expo 2010 (March 12 – 15, 2010), the biggest real estate and allied products exhibition was organised very successfully at Science City Grounds, Kolkata. This year there were 75 participants with a whopping 23,000 sq ft of stall area. The Expo displayed all range of properties right from mass housing to high end products. Banks and other allied industry players exhibited loan options and products and services respectively.

The exhibition, which lasted four days, was an opportunity to the Real Estate buyer to establish immediate dialogues with the exhibiting companies along with the chance to compare projects directly. The extensive media planning ensured a quality footfall of over 12,000 people in four days. An unprecedented 230 property bookings were made at Realty Expo 2010 resulting in business transactions worth about Rs.100 crores. The Expo encouraged people from all over east India to come and invest in Bengal by placing advertisements in East Editions and even using local dailies to advertise.

The exhibition marked the launch of a magazine called REAL ESTATE DIGEST which is the best such product available to a consumer who is searching for real estate properties. A 150+ page magazine it has extensive and current directory listings of more than 250 properties.

Two eminent architects of Kolkata – Mr. Sunil Maniramka and Mr. Vivek Rathore were present in order to judge the various exhibitors at Realty Expo 2010 for their outstanding performances in the following categories:

Property Show 2009 for Kolkatans (Nov. 21-22 & 28-29, 2009)
CREDAI Bengal joined hands with ICICI Bank Home loans to host a two -weekend long Property Show 2009 to provide great housing to nuclear families. Introduced to Kolkatans for the first time, this show had a unique concept titled Plug and Play, which made a huge mark by taking the show to the city’s residents instead of the usual norm of visitors going across to any exhibition. CREDAI Bengal was delighted to have Pioneer Property Management Ltd. as the Principal Sponsor and Airtel as the Telecom Partner for the exhibition. Interestingly, the Property Show was organised at numerous locations across the city. For instance, in the first weekend (Nov 21-22) the exhibition was held at the CII Grounds behind Salt Lake City Centre in East Kolkata and at Gouri Maata Udyan, Baaghbazar in North Kolkata. The show was extended to Taltala Maath, adjacent to EEDF Hospital, Prince Anwar Shah Road and in Howrah Maidan in the following weekend (Nov 28-29).

It was overwhelming to see the tumultuous response of the city’s residents towards this unique effort by CREDAI Bengal.

Interactive meet on realty market scenario (November 30, 2009)
The Interactive Session between CREDAI Bengal members and Mr Anuj Puri, Chairman and Country Head, JLLM, was held at the Palladian Lounge, Kolkata. The session commenced with Mr. Sumit Dabriwala addressing a welcome note to Mr Puri and the audience. The JLLM Chairman then proceeded to deliver a brief presentation about the real estate market scenario across India. He also spoke about the commercial trends on the movements of rents and capital values along with the availability of office space across the country. The other issues addressed by the speaker included were facts and figures about the stock versus. supply situation, the retail trends and the stakeholders’ expected strategy in 2009 – 2010 pan India. He presented the viewpoints from the standpoint of developers, investors, occupiers and the Government. The event, attended by numerous builder organisations, concluded with cocktails an interactive session between Mr Puri and the guests present.

Home Front 2009 at Netaji Indoor Stadium
The Home Front 2009 Exhibition (28 - 30 August 2009) was organised very successfully this year at the Netaji Indoor Stadium. The highly specialized fair, exclusively for the exhibition and sale of residential properties, has remained over the years a unique event in terms of both range and variety of properties displayed.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for Urban Development, Shri Saugata Roy. He mentioned that it was heartening to see the real estate industry getting more organised under structured and responsible organisations like CREDAI Bengal. He also launched the first copy of our bi-monthly Newsletter (Ground Realty)

Our main sponsor for this event was HDFC Home Loans. Other sponsors were Opus Estates (Catalogue Sponsor), Mobel Furniture (who sponsored cash vouchers for the first fifty purchasers) and Accord (Outdoor Partner)

Home Front 2009 distinguished itself with the high level of participation (45 companies). Proposing an extremely vast array of prices and locations, the properties on exhibit included Apartments, Rowhouses, Penthouses, Smart Houses, Villas as well as Studio Apartments. A large number of properties on offer were from the “Affordable Housing” category.

The exhibition, which lasted three days, was an opportunity to the home buyer to establish immediate dialogues with the exhibiting companies along with the chance to compare projects directly. 40 residential properties were booked at the exhibition with a total transaction value close to Rs. 15 Crores. Each one of them will receive a cash voucher of Rs. 20,000/- (redeemable at Mobel Furniture) subject to the fulfillment of the terms and conditions. 9 lucky visitors were awarded gifts out of a lucky draw. Apart from this, a free residential real estate catalogue was given away to every visitor. The extensive media planning ensured a footfall of over 12,000 people.

On the final day of the exhibition, rewards of recognition were given away to various exhibitors for outstanding performance in the following categories: Best Designed Stall: Diamond Group, Best Managed Stall: HDFC Bank and Most Functional Stall: N K Realtors. Our panel of jury consisted of eminent architects from the city.

All in all, the quality of the exhibition, the number of profitable contracts declared by property developers/marketers and the level of general satisfaction expressed by everybody, exhibitors and visitors alike, definitely made it a very fruitful event.

Realty Expo 2008 at Science City
CREDAI Bengal organised the first Realty Expo 2008 at the Science City in Kolkata from February 27 to March 2, 2008. The biggest real estate and allied products show in Eastern India, the Realty Expo 2008, featured a two-day conclave and a four-day exhibition simultaneously. The exhibition targeted potential buyers and investors by showcasing a diverse range of properties.

Inaugurated by Shri Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, the aim of the expo was to facilitate direct interaction between buyers, exhibitors and developers along with fund and asset managers, policy makers, investment banks and legal consultants.

Real Estate Conclave at ITC Sonar
The Real Estate Conclave 2008 was a two-day programme held on February 27 and 28, 2008, where different stakeholders including the government and the industry discussed trends in the real estate scene.
The Conclave was inaugurated by Shri Asok Bhattacharya, State Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Minister, at the ITC Sonar.
The minister urged CREDAI Bengal to take initiatives in the social sector housing projects.

Pradeep Sureka said that Special Residential Zones (SRZ) with tax breaks can be a viable solution to the problem of affordable housing.

Social Infrastructure in Kolkata with panelists P R Baviskar, CEO, KMDA; Alapan Bandyopadhyay, Municipal Commissioner, KMC; K Hariranjan, IPS - Additional Commissioner of Police; S N Menon - Ex Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India; Santosh Kumar Rungta, Vice President, CREDAI National.
The panelists of the second discussion were experts from corporate financial institutions, real estate fund managers, banks etc. It was moderated by Rahul Saraf, VP, CREDAI Bengal.
 
 
Home Front 2008 at Netaji Indoor Stadium
Home Front 2008 was organised between August 14 and 17, 2008, at Netaji Indoor Stadium. Property launches showcased single-window displays of some of the best o Leisure homes o Villas o Budget homes o Residential and studio apartments o Financial and mortgage institutions in West Bengal.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Pratim Chatterjee, the State Fire and Emergency Services minister.
There was a fair turnout and animated interaction took place between developers and potential buyers at the exhibition.
The Gold Coin Scheme
Goodwill gesture of the organisers for prospective buyers who gained maximum benefit from home deals clinched from an organised platform of over 50 leading property developers and accredited agencies. In the scheme each of the first 50 buyers booking a property at the exhibition received a gold coin.

Property Show 2007 at Netaji Indoor Stadium
The five-day Property Show 2007 held at Netaji Indoor Stadium from July 5 to 9, 2007, showcased over o 150 housing projects o IT parks o Commercial buildings coming up in and around town. Their collective worth stood at Rs 10,000 crore.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Gautam Deb – State Minister-in- Charge for Housing and Public Health Engineering and the Chairman of WBHIDCO. Also present were Shri Debi Prasad Jana – Vice Chairman, Housing Board; Shri Rajendra Narayan Raychowdhury – MD of WB Housing Board Infrastructure Development Corporation and Shri Somesh Chowdhury – State Secretary, Housing Department.

Underlined the need to address the challenges of rapid urbanisation
Urged city developers to cater to the “middle class and economically weaker sections”
“More than 70 percent of the demand for housing is in the LIG and MIG segments”

Home Front 2007 at Netaji Indoor Stadium
The One-stop Solution Property Exhibition held at Netaji Indoor Stadium from January 5 to 8, 2007, under the supervision of CREDAI Bengal turned out to be a show stealer. The exhibition was a marketing drive to bring projects in the pipeline to the fore.

People came in search of homes of all categories
CREDAI Bengal took initiatives to provide shelter to the marginalised or low income groups at Rajarhat, Baruipur, Dankuni, Garia and Howrah.
Government bodies, like KMDA, KMC, the Department of Fire Services and the Department of Environment participated at the exhibition.

Singapore Delegation
CREDAI Bengal organised an interactive luncheon meet on August 29, 2007, at The Park, Kolkata, for its members and environmental services mission members of International Enterprise, Singapore. The mission consisted of four leading companies like Chemitreat Pvt. Ltd., Keppel Seghers Engg. Singapore Pvt. Ltd., RVAC Pvt. Ltd. and Singapore Utilities International. CREDAI Bengal members were able to understand and appreciate some of the most modern services and technologies available in the field of environment management, which can help manage the environmental concerns that the real estate developers in the state may face in the coming years.
